The Indianapolis Colts’ defense took a potentially big hit when cornerback Vontae Davis suffered an ankle injury last week. Head coach Chuck Pagano confirmed that Davis is “week-to-week” with the injury, making him a question mark to be ready for Week 1. He will almost certainly miss the rest of the preseason.
Vontae Davis’ injury opens up a window for opposing fantasy WRs
The Colts’ shutdown corner is week-to-week with an ankle injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

The regular season is still three weeks away so Davis may not have to miss much game time that counts, but ankle sprains have a way of lingering. The Colts are seemingly so worried that they gave veteran free agent Antonio Cromartie a workout Monday.
Fantasy impact: Even if Davis is back early enough, he took a step backward last season and the Colts have little-to-no depth behind him. They play the Detroit Lions to start off the season on Sept. 11, and if Davis misses that game it will be a big boost to the fantasy outlooks of Golden Tate and Marvin Jones.
Fantasy owners should monitor Davis’ injury over the next few weeks — any game he misses is a golden opportunity for streamers and DFS players.
