The Miami Dolphins haven’t gotten what they wanted out of tight end Jordan Cameron since signing him to a two-year, $15 million contract last offseason. That disappointment has continued into this year’s training camp and preseason.
Jordan Cameron having poor training camp, fantasy value rapidly diminishing
Cameron’s forgettable Dolphins tenure has continued into this year’s camp. We break down the fantasy implications.

Last week head coach Adam Gase said that Cameron has “growing pains” with the new offense, and on Sunday the Palm Beach Post pointed out Cameron’s struggles during camp. He dropped an easy touchdown pass in the Dolphins’ second preseason game and quarterback Ryan Tannehill mentioned that he has to “get rolling” with more consistency.
Cameron had just 35 catches for 386 yards and three touchdowns in his first season in South Beach.
Fantasy impact: The Dolphins didn’t add any serious competition at tight end in the offseason, so Cameron’s roster spot should be safe. However, it doesn’t look like he’ll be playing any major role in the offense, as the team moves forward with Jarvis Landry, DeVante Parker and rookie Leonte Carroo as the focal points of the passing game.
Cameron hasn’t been a reliable fantasy player since 2013 and it’s unlikely that the 28-year-old turns things around in 2016. He belongs on the waiver wire in all league formats.
