The status of Rob Gronkowski remains in limbo. The All-Pro tight end was not present for the start of practice on Tuesday, according to NESN reporter Doug Kyed.
Rob Gronkowski not seen at Patriots practice, fantasy value dipping
We break down the fantasy implications of Rob Gronkowski’s mysterious injury still sidelining him.

The New England Patriots have been very quiet about Gronk’s injury to this point. There is still no definitive word as to what the injury is, though Boston Herald reporter Jeff Howe said it is just a bruise.
It seems like more than just a simple bruise with Gronk now being sidelined since Aug. 15. It is possible the Patriots are just keeping Gronk in bubble wrap until the regular season opens.
Still, you would think if this is nothing serious, the Patriots would want Gronk out there developing chemistry with Jimmy Garoppolo. Those two need every rep they can get to ensure Gronk keeps producing while Tom Brady sits out.
Fantasy Spin: With each passing day Gronk is not practicing, spending a first-round pick on him becomes harder to justify. That explains his ADP dipping enough that he is falling into Round 2.
Part of the concern is due to Gronk missing 16 career regular-season games. When Gronk is playing, few players in fantasy football are better.
That’s enough to keep drafting him at the end or Round 1 in standard leagues.
