It was a day of close calls for three of the five games in Tuesday’s Little League World Series action.
Little League World Series scores and bracket 2016: Midwest, Southeast roll to close victories
The field continues to narrow down at the Little League World Series as the winners advance and the losers begin to go home.


Two of those games — Australia vs. Caribbean and Midwest vs. New England — were decided by a single run, while a third, which was played between Southeast and West, was decided by just two.
Of course, that wasn’t the case for all the games. Japan cruised to an easy 6-1 victory over Southwest in the opening game of the day and Mexico rolled to a 7-1 win over Canada in the second.
The victors in Tuesday’s matchups will continue on in the 2016 Little League World Series, while the losers will pack up their things and head back home.

The 2016 Little League World Series definitely didn’t disappoint those looking to watch some quality baseball.
The Midwest advanced by topping New England, 3-2, and Australia picked up a tight 2-1 victory over Caribbean.
The nightcap game was won by Southeast, which topped West, 4-2, to end the day’s games.
