The 2016 Little League World Series is closing in on championship weekend, with a pair of elimination games on Thursday to determine the final four teams of the double-elimination tournament.

Two more elimination games set the stage for the final four


ESPN will televise both games from Williamsport, Penn., on Thursday, with online streaming available through WatchESPN.
The first game on Thursday is between the kids from San Nicolas in Mexico and Seoul, South Korea, playing for a spot in Saturday’s International championship game against Panama.
Mexico beat Australia 10-0 on Wednesday, and has scored 31 runs in their four games so far in the tournament, including 29 runs in their last three games after a 10-2 opening game loss to Panama a week ago.
South Korea, representing Asia-Pacific, is 2-1 so far in the tournament, with wins over Curacao and Canada before Wednesday’s 3-2 loss to Panama. Wednesday night was the first time South Korea allowed any runs in this tournament.
The nightcap on Thursday is for a spot in the United States championship game, with Goodlettsville, Tenn., representing the Southeast region, taking on Bowling Green, Ky., representing the Great Lakes, for the right to face New York on Saturday.
New York beat Kentucky on Wednesday night to earn one spot in the U.S. title game. Kentucky is 2-1 so far in the tournament, scoring 35 runs in their three games.
Tennessee beat Iowa 14-3 on Wednesday, after scoring eight total runs in their first three games of the tournament.
