Arizona Cardinals wide receiver John Brown returned to practice Thursday, just four days after getting cleared from a concussion that’s kept him sidelined for three weeks.
John Brown returns to practice, should be quality fantasy asset
Brown got cleared to practice this week after a lengthy absence due to a concussion. We break down the fantasy implications.
Brown spent most of training camp in the concussion protocol, which is more than a little concerning for the third-year wideout. Fortunately, it seems that his symptoms have subsided and he’s ready to resume football activities. If Brown avoids any setbacks, he should be ready for the Cardinals’ Week 1 regular season opener, although it’s unclear if he will play in this week’s third preseason game.
Fantasy impact: Although Brown always seems to be battling a nagging injury, he’s missed just one regular season game in his two-year NFL career. As a big-time playmaker in Arizona’s explosive offense, Brown is one of the safest WR3 investments in fantasy. With Larry Fitzgerald playing a decreased role, Brown is a good bet to beat last season’s numbers of 65 catches, 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns.
