Washington rookie T.J. Thorpe and his significant other are the new power couple of the NFL. Move over Tom Brady, see you later Russell Wilson — y’all got upstaged by an undrafted free agent.
Shortly before Washington’s preseason game against the Jets a week ago last Friday night, Thorpe was returning to the tunnel following warmups when he went to say goodbye and get a good luck kiss. Dawww that’s so sweet. Been there, done that. We’ve seen all this before. That’s when this got awesome.
The two turned back to each other and knew it was time for work. A dap for good luck and Thorpe was on his way. It worked too! Washington won, and Thorpe finished with a 17 yard reception. Not shabby for preseason.
