Editor’s update: The Vikings announced that Bridgewater suffered a torn ACL, a dislocated knee, and other structural damage. He did not suffer any nerve or arterial damage. The team did not specify, but he is likely done for the year.
Teddy Bridgewater injury puts Vikings offense on hold in fantasy football
Losing Teddy Bridgewater would be devastating to the Vikings offense.
The Minnesota Vikings are holding their breaths after Teddy Bridgewater suffered a scary injury. Bridgewater went down with anon-contact knee injury before being carted out of Tuesday’s practice, according to ESPN reporter Ben Goessling.
The injury was so bad that the Vikings ended practice after just 25 minutes. An ambulance was reportedly called to the facilities for Bridgewater. There is no word as to what the exact injury is.
Bridgewater is entering his third NFL season with Minnesota, where he was poised to lead an offense that made significant upgrades to the passing game this year.
Between an improved offensive line and first-round pick LaQuon Treadwell at receiver, this offense was going to have several players worthy of consideration in your fantasy football draft.
Fantasy Spin: This is a very sad development for Bridgewater, whose season is now clearly in jeopardy. With Minnesota having just Shaun Hill and Joel Stave at quarterback, the Vikings’ offense just took a major hit overall.
The passing game will take a major hit, which hurts the potential of Treadwell, Charles Johnson, Kyle Rudolph and Stefon Diggs. All of these players’ fantasy stock is now on hold until the status of Bridgewater and his potential replacement clears up.
