Detroit Lions tight end Eric Erbron has a 50 percent chance to play in the team’s first 2016 regular season game according to the Detroit Free Press’ Dave Birkett. This is good news for the Lions, who recently placed their other tight end, Brandon Pettigrew, on the team’s reserve/PUP list.
Eric Ebron possible for Week 1, low fantasy value for now
The Lions tight end may be able to play in the team’s first regular season game of 2016. We explore the fantasy implications.

When Ebron went down earlier this summer with an ankle injury, his chances of playing in the beginning of the year did not seem high. But apparently his recovery is progressing well and he could possibly be on the field when Detroit takes on the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 11.
Fantasy Impact: Heading into the 2016 season, Ebron was already a low-round fantasy long shot. But since his injury a few weeks ago, his draft value has all but disappeared.
After catching 47 passes for 537 yards and five touchdowns in just eight starts last year, he is looking to progress even further this season.
With wide receiver Calvin Johnson retired from the Lions after last year, Ebron could possibly see an increase in balls thrown his way in 2016. But for now, fantasy owners should not be using a draft selection on Ebron.
