Seattle Seahawks tight end Jimmy Graham could possibly be inactive for the team’s first regular season game of 2016 according to DraftKings’ Adam Levitan. Graham’s 2015 season was cut short after he tore his patellar tendon during a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Jimmy Graham could miss Week 1, fantasy value trending downward
Seattle’s tight end is recovering from a torn patellar tendon and may miss the team’s first regular season game of 2016. We explore the fantasy implications.
His recovery seems to be moving along nicely, but he has not played in any of the Seahawks’ games this preseason. Graham did participate in Seattle’s warm ups before their preseason matchup with the Dallas Cowboys last week, but that was as far as it went in terms of his involvement with the team that day.
Of course the Seahawks would love to have their top tight end back in the lineup for their first game of the regular season. But they also know that a healthy Graham at the end of the season could prove to be more valuable, so there is no rush to get him back on the field if he is not ready.
Fantasy Impact: This could potentially be big news for Graham’s fantasy owners if it turns out to be true. Despite his injury, Graham’s 2016 ADP still falls around the eighth round in most standard 12-team leagues.
If he is unavailable for Week 1, fantasy owners are going to have to scramble to find another tight end and unfortunately be forced into carrying two tight ends on their rosters.
