Jared Goff may get his first NFL start this week. Head coach Jeff Fisher said Tuesday there is a “50-50 chance” that Goff starts in the Los Angeles Rams’ preseason finale, according to ESPN reporter Alden Gonzalez.
Jared Goff may start vs. Vikings, has no fantasy value
We break down the fantasy implications of Jared Goff possibly starting in the Rams’ preseason finale.
The Rams face the Minnesota Vikings Thursday to wrap up the preseason, which has been a mixed bag for Goff. The first pick of the 2016 NFL Draft is still trailing Case Keenum to be the Week 1 starter.
In three preseason games, Goff has completed 16 of 33 passes for 165 yards, one touchdown, one interception and has taken four sacks. He has played mostly with backups.
Fantasy Spin: With Keenum having all but locked up the starting job, Goff has no fantasy value entering the regular season. Goff may have more talent and upside, but he has made too many mistakes to start anytime soon.
Neither quarterback should have any fantasy relevance this year.
