Someone lost the key to the Olympic stadium, so firefighters had to cut a gate open

The small mishaps in Rio keep on piling. On Wednesday, Julia Carneiro, a reporter covering the Olympics for BBC, tweeted a video of firemen prying open a gate with bolt cutters because the staff had lost the key. This took place at Olympic Stadium, before Sweden and South Africa had their preliminary soccer match.

Judging from the number of people on the other side of the gate, it seems the stadium’s other entrances were functioning properly, but not without their own problems, which caused line delays, according to Carneiro:

On the bright side, Rio staff have [checks clock] at least a day to make sure other keys aren’t lost.
