Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam Jones was arrested on Jan. 3 and charged with misdemeanor assault, disorderly conduct, and obstructing official business. While Jones was being taken into custody, he had some choice words for the arresting officers, which were revealed Monday in a video obtained by TMZ.

Jones is due back in court on Feb. 10 for the charges stemming from his arrest.

Jones released a statement of apology through his attorneys, Timothy Schneider and Alex Triantafilou, on Monday night, according to Joe Kay of the Associated Press.
“Adam Jones is deeply embarrassed and remorseful for his conduct and language after being arrested in early January,” the statement read. “Mr. Jones has the utmost respect for law enforcement and the difficulties police encounter on a daily basis.”
The statement offers an apology from Jones to the officers, the Bengals organization, and fans. It also says that Jones will pursue help with anger management.
The Bengals also released a statement regarding Jones’ behavior in the video.
“We are extremely disappointed with Adam’s behavior,” the team said. “The behavior in the video is not what we expect from our players. The club is aware that Adam has put forth his own apology. However, we also offer an apology to the public and to our loyal fans.”
The video opens with Jones informing one officer that he is a “bitch-ass n****.” Jones then asks to be informed of the charges against him. The officer relays the charges against Jones, and Jones doesn’t take it well.
“Suck my dick, how about that?” Jones says. “Do you understand that? You’re a bitch, bro.”
Jones goes on to tell the officer that he hopes the officer dies tomorrow, and Jones seems upset that he didn’t get to share his side of the story. Jones says that officers didn’t respond when he told them the man he got in an altercation with had hit Jones.
“You didn’t even ask me what happened,” Jones said. “Did you ask me what happened? No, the fuck you didn’t, bitch.”
Jones demands the officers open the window for him, so “they can get it on camera.”
The video wraps up with Jones asking for the arresting officer’s name, and the officer obliges.
“Bitch, you’re going to be out of a job tomorrow,” Jones says.
The initial charges against Jones stemmed from an altercation between Jones and a man at The Banks, a mixed-use retail and dining complex near the Bengals’ stadium in Cincinnati. During the altercation, Jones was said to have pushed him and poked the man in the eye. Police also said Jones tried to kick and head butt them during his arrest.
After arriving at the jail, a felony charge of harassment with a bodily substance was also applied to Jones after he spit on a nurse and a sheriff’s deputy during processing.
Jones was arraigned on Jan. 3, and his bond was set at $37,500. He will return to court on Feb. 10.
