Atlanta sports fans don’t have the best reputation, and the media has had plenty to say about that in the days leading up to Super Bowl LI. Lifelong Falcons fan and former Good Burger star Kenan Thompson stood up for his fellow Atlanta sports enthusiasts on Sarah Spain’s podcast, That’s What She Said.
This is officially the ‘Good Burger’ Super Bowl
Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger.

“For anybody saying that Atlanta fans aren’t loyal, you’re out of your mind,” Thompson said. “And you’ll see on Sunday what I’m talking about.”
Thompson was responding primarily to a column from the Boston Globe’s Dan Shaughnessy, who was not enthused at the idea of the Patriots facing the Falcons in the Super Bowl.
Shaughnessy described Atlanta as “a town with absolutely zero enthusiasm for professional sports,” and Thompson took exception.
“Every time I’ve ever been to a sporting event in Atlanta people give it up, just like anywhere else that I’ve ever been to,” he said.
Thompson grew up in the College Park neighborhood in Atlanta, and he spent his childhood watching Falcons games with his father and brother. He won’t be able to attend the Super Bowl because of work.
His costar from Good Burger, Kel Mitchell, was at Super Bowl Opening Night, in character as Ed from Good Burger. He asked perhaps the most important question Tom Brady would field all night.
It’s official. Super Bowl LI is the Good Burger Super Bowl.
