We saw two firsts on an NFL scoreboard on Sunday. The Houston Texans had a dominating 57-14 performance on Sunday against the Titans, and the Seahawks owned the Colts in a 46-18 win.
Titans-Texans and Colts-Seahawks gave us 2 scores the NFL had never seen before
SCORIGAMI!

Here at SB Nation we like to call it scorigami — our Jon Bois coined the term. According to Pro-Football-Reference, there are still 404 scores that have yet to be reached.
Deshaun Watson carried the Texans with 25-of-34 passing and 283 yards, four touchdowns, and just one interception. Watson did damage on the ground too, with 24 yards and a touchdown.
The Titans’ 14 points is pretty simple to explain. A pair of Marcus Mariota touchdown runs and extra points by Ryan Succop provided for one of the most common scores in the game.
There wasn’t a whole lot of special things that had to happen for the Texans. The only oddity that gave them 57 points was a missed extra point by Ka’imi Fairbairn at the end of the first half.
The 57 points by the Texans made this one seem destined to be scorigami. The Titans could have scored a safety or endless field goals the rest of the way, and it still would have been a first.
A field goal by the Colts could have sabotaged our chance at scorigami in Seattle. Instead, we got our unique score.
In 2016, we had five cases of scorigami:
- 48-33 (Falcons over Panthers)
- 41-25 (Patriots over Bills)
- 46-27 (Panthers over 49ers)
- 49-15 (Panthers over Cardinals)
- 45-32 (Falcons over Saints)
In 2017, we now have four: Sunday’s games between the Texans-Titans and Seahawks-Colts, a Week 1 matchup between the Colts and Rams (46-9), and 49ers Week 3 Thursday night game, 41-39.
