Browns had a chance to beat the Titans, but lost because they are the Browns

The Browns are now 0-7.

The Cleveland Browns had a chance to get in the win column against the Titans, and blew it, as they do, in a 12-9 loss.

The loss was some very Cleveland Browns nonsense. They had to bench rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer yet again after another poor showing — this time for Cody Kessler. The Browns were in the game the whole time and didn’t want to let an opportunity to win slip away.

They did anyway.

In the fourth quarter, the Browns were down 9-6 and had gotten close to field-goal range. They then got a penalty to push them back, and then Kessler threw this horrible interception:

However, they’d get the ball back and knocked in the game-tying field goal, which initially looked like it was going to be a terrible shank before hooking in:

Hue Jackson said during the week that Kizer’s main job was to win games. Because the Browns were in their best position to win and Kizer was underwhelming with his performance, Jackson pulled the switch.

“Kizer is developing, but his job is still to win,” Jackson said after their Week 6 game against the Jets. “That is first and foremost. I didn’t think it was going in the right direction. That is why I made the decision to take him out. If that was the case and it was just about development, I would have just left him in.”

And for a second consecutive week, Jackson’s benching of Kizer doesn’t help as the Browns fall to 0-7.

To make matters even worse, they lost Joe Thomas to a triceps injury, as he missed the first snap of his career after 10,363 in a row.

This was quite the BROWNSSSSSSS loss.
