The NASCAR car owner suffered a heart attack last weekend and underwent successful bypass surgery two days later.
FRR, based in Denver, Colo., fields two cars in the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series, for drivers Martin Truex Jr. and rookie Erik Jones. Truex has won a series-best seven races this season and has secured one of four available berths in the championship final next week at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Visser said he was not feeling well and experiencing numbness before checking into a Denver-area hospital on Nov. 4. He is expected to be released from the hospital by the end of the week or early next week.
Because of the recommended recovery period for the bypass surgery, Visser will not attend Sunday’s semifinal playoff race at Phoenix Raceway nor the Nov. 19 championship final at Homestead.
“It’s a chance of a lifetime to be in position to win the NASCAR Cup Series championship,” Visser said in a statement. “I hope to be in touch with Martin and Cole (Pearn, crew chief) leading up to Homestead and participate without too much excitement.”
