Eagles’ touchdown celebrations keep getting better every week

They’re fun and elaborate and have continued to evolve throughout the season.

The Eagles have gotten in the end zone more than any other team this season. They’ve responded by giving us some of the best celebrations in the NFL.

There’s no way to anticipate what the Eagles have planned. The only thing we can be sure of is that they’ll take it up a notch each week. We expect similar magic from the Eagles on Sunday Night Football against the Seahawks.

It’s often the offense that gets to bask in the celebration spotlight, but everybody really gets in on the action. It’s a way for the Eagles to express how much they’re enjoying this 10-1 season so far.

”I think guys are enjoying the process every week and so when we’re here on Sundays and it’s game time, we cut loose,” safety Malcolm Jenkins said via the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Les Bowen about the team’s celebrations. “We work hard so we feel like the least we can do is have fun out there. It gets the crowd involved and excited. That permeates throughout the whole team.”

Here are the Eagles’ greatest hits so far this season:

Week 5 - Eagles hit a home run

Torrey Smith got into the end zone on a 59-yard pass from Carson Wentz to give the Eagles a 21-0 lead over the Cardinals. It was basically the football equivalent of a home run. The Eagles celebrated accordingly.

Week 6 - KELCE SPIKE

Pretty basic, comparatively speaking. But Jason Kelce’s monster spike rivaled Rob Gronkowski’s signature celebration. It also incorporated most of the offense, which is nice.

Week 7 - Mack Hollins does the NFL’s best version of Backpack Kid

Mack Hollins celebrated his first NFL touchdown with a well-executed nod to Backpack Kid, a kid who stole the show from Katy Perry on Saturday Night Live back in May. Other players have tried this one, but it was Hollins who really nailed it.

Week 8 - Eagles top their home run celebration by charging the mound

The home run celebration in Week 5 was terrific. But the Eagles upped the ante with a charging the mound celebration. Alshon Jeffery got in the end zone against the 49ers, and then tight end Zach Ertz hit him with a wild pitch. Jefferey wasn’t about to let it go.

Week 12 - Alshon Jeffery goes bowling

Look at this flawless timing and placement. It’s a strike for Alshon Jeffery. When he wraps up his football career, he may want to check out the PBA.

But they weren’t done.

Electric Slide, Part 1

The Eagles really took their celebration game to another plane of existence later that same game. They wanted to teach us, teach us, teach us — they taught us the Electric Slide.

This one was hard to top.

Electric Slide, Part 2

But surprise, they did top it by doing the Electric Slide again. They kind of had to, because Rasul Douglas’ interception they celebrated the first time got overturned. Then Corey Graham’s interception gave them a second chance — and the second dance was just as good.

You can feel it — it’s electric! Boogie, woogie, woogie.

We can’t wait to see what celebrations the Eagles come up with for Week 13 and beyond.
