New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis is being investigated by Pittsburgh police, after Revis was reportedly involved in an early-morning altercation on the South Side of Pittsburgh last weekend, according to WTAE.

Charges were officially filed on Thursday night, according to the New York Daily News. Revis was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, and individual charges of robbery, conspiracy and terroristic threats.

According to WTAE, two men were punched near the corner of South 23rd and East Carson streets, with the incident being reported around 2:30 a.m. Monday.

Revis’ attorney, Blaine Jones, told WTAE that Revis was the one assaulted. He also says that Revis sought medical attention, though did not give details on the nature of the injury or severity.

“Mr. Revis came home to Pittsburgh this past weekend to visit family and friends. During that time, Mr. Revis went by a location in the South Side that he is in the process of developing,” Jones said via WTAE. “Mr. Revis was physically assaulted while at that location by a group of at least five people. Mr. Revis feared for his safety and retreated from the aggressors.”

Sources from WTAE gave this timeline of events in the altercation:

-Revis was approached by two people on the street who complimented his clothes and asked if he was Revis.

- Revis answered yes. The men continued to follow him and started recording him on a cellphone.

- A shoving match ensued as Revis asked the men to leave him alone.

- Victims say Revis grabbed the phone from one man in an attempt to delete the video, then threw the phone into Carson Street.

- A friend of Revis’ approached, and the two men were punched. Nobody saw who threw the blows.

- Both of the injured men were taken to the hospital. One suffered broken bones around his eye.

WTAE also reports that officers obtained video from a cellphone belonging to one of the victims in the alleged altercation.

Revis is from nearby Aliquippa and played his college football at Pitt.
