Martellus Bennett confirms he won’t go to White House for Patriots’ Super Bowl celebration

Bennett previously said that he probably wouldn’t, and he confirmed it Sunday.

Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett said during Super Bowl Opening Night (also known as media day) that he wasn’t sure if he would attend the White House if the Patriots won the Super Bowl.

“I don’t know, I’ve got to win the Super Bowl,” Bennett said. “But most likely no. I don’t support the guy that’s in the (White) House.”

After the Patriots completed the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history, Bennett confirmed that he wasn’t interested in going:

Bennett is undoubtedly the most outspoken player on the Patriots, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see other teammates join him in not going.

Earlier during the season, Bennett and Devin McCourty raised their fists to protest oppression against African-Americans in the United States.
