Texas Rangers are tasked with finding Tom Brady’s stolen jersey

They want to find those now-sacred threads.

Tom Brady’s jersey from Super Bowl 51 is something that anybody would want in their sports memorabilia collection. The Patriots made a historic 25-point comeback against the Falcons thanks in large part to the MVP heroics of Brady. Sure enough, somebody took it.

Brady looked throughout the locker room after the game for his jersey, and he couldn’t find it. Brady was “flustered” during the search, and understandably so.

The search for the jersey is going to ramp up. Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is making sure all hands are on deck to find Brady’s jersey:

“In Texas we place a very high value on hospitality and football,” Patrick wrote in a release via Texas Tribune. “Tom Brady’s jersey has great historical value and is already being called ‘the most valuable NFL collectable ever.’ It will likely go into the Hall of Fame one day. It is important that history does not record that it was stolen in Texas.”

Patrick also notes his fandom in the release, saying that he’s a Texans and Cowboys fan first.

He continued, “But the unquestionable success of the Super Bowl in Houston last night was a big win for our entire state, and I don’t want anything to mar that victory,” Patrick said. “Whoever took this jersey should turn it in. The Texas Rangers are on the trail.”

There’s a few Texas Rangers that Patrick could be referring to outside of law enforcement, like the baseball team:

It could even be Walker, Texas Ranger.

Or perhaps even Marcus, the Texas Ranger, Jeff Bridges’ Oscar nominated performance from Hell or High Water.

At least, that would make the search a lot more interesting.
