Houston police chief is more concerned with solving homicides than finding Tom Brady’s Super Bowl jersey

“It’s a jersey.”

In the midst of all the excitement that the Patriots had after completing the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history against the Atlanta Falcons, Tom Brady’s jersey went missing.

It was such a big deal, that Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick called on Texas Rangers to help find it. Even Houston PD said that they would attempt to help find it:

Houston Police Chief Art Acevdeo — in charge of overseeing the big game — said on Tuesday via the Statesman that finding the jersey isn’t exactly high on the list of things for the Houston PD to do.

“It might be the highest priority for [the] lieutenant governor,” Acevedo said. “I can tell you we had three homicides the night of the Super Bowl in the city of Houston, and we’d like to find it, but I don’t think we’re burning the midnight oil worrying about a jersey.”

He added, “I told those guys, ‘Hey guys, we’ll give it a run, but let’s keep things in perspective, it’s a jersey.’”

This is probably pretty reassuring for the people of Houston, who likely don’t care at all that Tom Brady’s jersey is missing. Not just for their own safety, but because he beat the Texans, too.
