Adam Gase has been the head coach of the Miami Dolphins for a year now, and he’s settled in to the role. But if there’s one thing he doesn’t care for, it’s free agency.
Adam Gase ‘hates free agency’ and doesn’t care who knows it
The Dolphins could lose Kenny Stills and sometimes that makes Adam Gase “feel like crap.”

During a press conference before the 2017 NFL Combine, Gase spoke to reporters and was very honest about his thoughts on free agency — which is set to begin next week on March 9 — and the Dolphins’ chances at retaining wide receiver Kenny Stills who is set to hit the market in a week.
Stills, 24, had 42 receptions for 726 yards during the 2016 season, but his upside could mean he’s likely to soon become one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the NFL. According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the market for Stills is already in the range of $12 million per year.
Antonio Brown set the top of the market in February with a new four-year contract that pays him $17 million per year, but there are only five other receivers in the league who makes at least $12 million per season.
Free agency could cost the Dolphins one of their bright, young receivers and that makes Gase feel like crap.
