The 2017 NCAA lacrosse tournament started on Saturday with a pair of upsets, including Duke getting a rare road win at Johns Hopkins in the first round.

Duke beat the No. 6 seed on the road, 19-6, snapping a long home tournament winning streak for Johns Hopkins, per NCAA.com:
The Bluejays (8-7) had gone 26 years without a playoff loss at Homewood Field — with the previous instance coming in the 1991 quarterfinals against Syracuse. Under current head coach Dave Pietramala, Johns Hopkins came into Saturday’s contest with an 11-0 record on its home turf in postseason play.
In other first-round action, No. 7 Penn State was beaten 12-8 by Towson, but perhaps the most notable defeat was defending tournament champion North Carolina falling to No. 8 Albany, 15-12, thanks to early goals like this from Bennett Drake:
The first round concludes on Sunday, when all eight winners from this weekend will compete in quarterfinal action beginning next Saturday.
