Indianapolis 500 qualifying is in the books, and 33 drivers will compete in the famous race on Sunday, May 28. But before anyone can sip the celebratory milk, a whole week of fun action for the fans is planned.
Indy 500 schedule 2017: Carb Day, Legends Day, and more are on tap
The famous race takes place on Sunday, May 28, but there are a few events left to participate in.


Scott Dixon, the winner of this year’s Indianapolis 500 pole, is now a three-time pole winner. He also won in 2008 and 2015. This year, Dixon posted a four-lap average of 232.164 mph, the fastest since Arie Luyendyk’s 236.986 mph record in 1996. Indeed, the Indianapolis 500 is only a week away, but there are a few events that will take place before then. Today drivers will participate in the Verizon IndyCar Series practice from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET. The gates are open to the public at noon.
Friday, May 26, is the Miller Lite Carb Day, an event where fans can watch the final practice before the Indianapolis 500, get autographs, and attend the Steve Miller Band concert (featuring guests Barenaked Ladies) from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. ET. The Pit Stop Challenge and the Indy Lights Freedom 100 race are two of many other events that will also take place. Furthermore, the Legends Day will occur on Saturday, May 27. Country singer Keith Urban will perform at the Firestone Legends Day concert from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. ET There will be other festivities like the Nerf Nitro Kids Zone Open and the Chevrolet Consumer Laps. Lastly, the Indianapolis 500 Snake Pit is on the same day as the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing.” EDM superstars Zedd and Marshmello will perform at the event, as well as RL Grime, Action Bronson, Adventure Club, and The Trap House.
