Update: The pre-race favorite Always Dreaming won the 2017 Kentucky Derby

The 2017 Kentucky Derby will be taking place Saturday at 6:46 p.m. and will feature what will likely be a muddy, dramatic race.

Of course, the variables due to weather and track condition just make the betting even more interesting as favorites like Always Dreaming continue to stay atop the sportsbooks, and others, like Classic Empire, find themselves fading in the betting to begin the day.

As of 11:25 a.m. ET Saturday, according to odds posted by the official Kentucky Derby website, Always Dreaming is still the favorite by bettors as the horse’s 5-1 morning line has increased to 4-1.

Classic Empire began the day at 4-1 but has slid to 8-1 thanks to the current betting trends.

Some big movers early on race day at Churchill Downs include Gunnevera, climbing from 15-1 morning line odds to 9-1. Patch has climbed from 30-1 to 15-1 odds.

Irish War Cry had some progress in the odds, going from 6-1 to 5-1 as bettors place their wagers.

Sliding the wrong way in terms of odds was McCraken, going from 5-1 to 7-1 odds. Girvin also fell to 21-1 current odds after a 15-1 morning line.
