NBA 2K18 put Kyrie Irving on the cover just in time for the NBA Finals

Kyrie Irving’s list of accolades continue to grow. This morning, NBA 2k announced Irving as the cover athlete for NBA 2k18.

NBA 2k has been a leader in sports gaming over the last few years and making the cover is no small feat. The announcement was made with Irving set to play in his third straight NBA Finals tonight.

Though it isn’t an official NBA award, some of the biggest names around the league have been on the cover over the last few years.

Irving will join a star-studded cast with the likes of Paul George, LeBron James, Blake Griffin, Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, James Harden, Stephen Curry and Anthony Davis as active athletes to grace the cover since 2010.

Shaquielle O’Neal is the cover athlete for Legends edition of 2k18. Both the standard and Legends edition games are available for preorder today.
