Belmont Stakes 2017 undercard: Preview, race times, and how to watch online

The Belmont Stakes is almost here, but first there’s a full slate of undercard races to get to on Saturday.

The Belmont Stakes is one of the biggest races in all of horse racing and will take place on Saturday. But before the race takes place, there is a full undercard of action as part of Belmont Stakes Day.

Some of the most important races of the season will take place prior to the actual Grade I Belmont Stakes, including the Met Mile and the Ogden Phipps.

The Met Mile is a $1.2 million race that will take place in the late afternoon, with a post time set for 4:41 p.m. ET. It’s one of the most exciting races on the calendar and Mor Spirit, who is trained by Bob Baffert, is one of the favorites to win. The race’s proper name is the Metropolitan Mile.

The Ogden Phipps is a also one of the more exciting and anticipated races on the calendar. It’s a Grade I stakes race that will go 1 1/16 miles and has a purse of $750,000.

Coverage of the undercard will be carried by NBCSN and via NBC Sports online. Live streams and television coverage will begin at 3 p.m. Below are the graded stakes races for the day, as well as the expected post time for Saturday.
