Happy weekend sports fans! Hopefully all your NBA draft dreams came true on Thursday night — and if you’re a Bulls fan, well, you have a couple of days off to forget about NBA draft grades and the existence of professional basketball.
6 can’t-miss sports events to watch this weekend
There are less sports than there used to be, but we’ll get through this together.

There’s ANOTHER draft this weekend. The 2017 NHL draft kicks off on Friday night, which gives you a nice weekend segue into a few really good things that are worth your time.
WHAT TO WATCH
All times eastern.
NHL
The 2017 NHL draft begins on Friday night, starting at 7 p.m. on NBCSN. The question many have on their minds: Nolan Patrick or Nico Hischier? The two talented forwards have many split on which one will be taken No. 1 by the New Jersey Devils, if they even keep that pick at all!
If you can’t watch, catch up on every pick for every team with our NHL Draft Tracker.
MLB
There are two good games on the cards this weekend. The Rockies and Dodgers are fighting for first place in the National League West. Saturday’s game is on MLB Network for out-of-market viewers starting at 10 p.m.
Sunday Night Baseball also promises to be a good game with the Cardinals and Pirates facing off on ESPN at 8 p.m.
GOLF
The week after a major is usually a lull in the schedule, a time to step away and take a walk outside. But the Travelers Championship has drawn one of the strongest fields of the year on the PGA Tour, including first-time visits from Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth, who sprinted out to an early lead after the first round. Plus, this isn’t drudgery golf — the world’s best can pile up birdies and go super low, as we saw last year when Jim Furyk shot the first ever 58 on the PGA Tour. CBS is airing the event live beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
NASCAR
The race heads west to Sonoma, California, for the first road course of the year, proving that yes, right turns are possible. Coverage begins on Sunday FS1 at 3 p.m.
SOCCER
Mexico and Russia are the two countries who are taking the Confederations Cup most seriously. It looks likely that only one of them will make the knockout rounds. Russia needs to win, while Mexico just needs to tie. FOX and Telemundo have coverage beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
