The 2017 Belmont Stakes lost its favorite on Wednesday morning when Classic Empire was pulled from the race with a hoof abscess, but the rest of the field of 12 was slotted into their posts on Wednesday afternoon in New York. With the presumptive favorite out, Irish War Cry was named the morning line favorite and will start from the seventh gate in the 12-horse field.
