Brian Hoyer wound up for a throw then fumbled 3 yards for a Broncos fumble recovery

You can’t throw the ball if it’s not in your hands.

Brian Hoyer made the funniest blooper on Saturday’s slate of NFL preseason games.

Hoyer was gathering himself in the pocket preparing to make a throw, which he did. However, the ball was not in his hands when he tried to sling it. Instead, it went back three yards.

The BroncosShelby Harris was able to recover the ball near midfield for Denver.

Hoyer is almost certainly going to be the 49ers starter in Week 1, unless Matt Barkley or C.J. Beathard show us something they haven’t before. But that was a very Preseason Quarterback play by Hoyer.
