If there is one standout team of the first four days of the 2017 Little League World Series, it has to be the team from Greenville, N.C., who pitched another no-hitter on Sunday to advance to the semifinals of the United States bracket.

North Carolina, representing the Southeast region, used three pitchers on Friday to pitch a perfect game. On Sunday, they overpowered the West region team from Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., 16-0, with the big inning being a nine-run fifth.
But the big story was North Carolina tossing yet another no-hitter, its second in as many games.
North Carolina will play the Southwest region team from Lufkin, Texas, on Wednesday night, with the winner advancing to the U.S. championship game. Texas on Sunday beat the New England team from Fairfield, Conn., 6-3.
On the international side, Canada’s offense continued to shine in a 7-3 win over the Latin America team from Maracaibo, Venezuela. The Canadian team, from White Rock, British Columbia, has scored 19 runs in two games so far in the Little League World Series.
The losing teams on Sunday are still alive in the double-elimination tournament, but must continue winning to stay alive. Up next for them are elimination games on Monday, but to earn a spot in the U.S. or international side of the bracket will require three more wins in elimination games on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
