Three elimination games are on deck Tuesday.

Representing the Midwest, South Dakota was shut out in its opener against Texas and edged by a run in its double-elimination game against Washington. It’ll face an Australia squad with a similar experience: It fell 9-0 to Japan before losing 8-7 to the Caribbean representative from the Dominican Republic.
Mexico and Venezuela will meet at 3 p.m. in an international bracket quarterfinal at Lamade a day after Venezuela walked off against the Dominican Republic in a double-elimination game. In a show of sportsmanship, Venezuela first stopped to console the Dominican’s pitcher who gave up the winning triple before continuing with its celebration.
Finally, New Jersey and Connecticut will meet at 7:30 p.m. in a United States bracket quarterfinal in what is a rematch of the opening round. Connecticut nipped New Jersey, 7-6, on the LLWS’s first day. However, New Jersey has been a high-scoring squad since then, defeating Michigan 15-5 and California 12-9 in the double-elimination bracket to stay in contention. Connecticut, after dropping a second-round game to Texas, toppled Washington 14-6 in the double-elimination bracket.
