Mayweather vs. McGregor: Start time, TV schedule for Showtime PPV event
Fight day is here. Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor will face each other, and here’s how you can watch.

Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor are set to compete in the biggest boxing match since the former took on Manny Pacquiao in the “Fight of the Century” in 2015. They’re meeting in the main event of a stacked card on Saturday, and there’s a premium pay-per-view price tag to go with the spectacle of it all.
Saturday’s card begins at 7 p.m. ET with four fights broadcast on Fox for the preliminary card. The pay-per-view begins at 9 p.m. and will cost a crisp $100 bill if you want to see boxing’s greatest fighter against a mixed martial artist who has never competed in the sport.
That said, he’s an incredible mixed martial artists and his base is in boxing. McGregor is 21-3 as a mixed martial artist, and held the UFC’s featherweight and lightweight championships after he took them from Jose Aldo and Eddie Alvarez, respectively.
He is also known for his two fights against Nate Diaz, a much bigger fighter who won the first match by submission but who lost a decision when they rematched. There has been some talk about a third fight with Diaz following the Mayweather fight.
Still, few expect McGregor can push Mayweather, a 49-0 boxer who may be just outside of his prime but who is still indisputably the greatest of this generation. A common criticism of Mayweather is that he picks his fights, and that might be true. But you simply don’t make it to the top of the sport without being incredibly skilled.
And that’s what he is. Most credible experts think Mayweather will win the fight however he wants, likely via unanimous decision after frustrating McGregor with his counter-boxing and elusive style for the entire fight. Those who think McGregor can win it are pretty much resting their hopes on a knockout.
That’s not the most far-fetched idea, either. They are using lighter gloves, down to eight ounces, which are still double the size of mixed martial arts gloves. The concession from Mayweather allowing the smaller gloves is essentially a taunt at McGregor. He wants him to know that he’s not going to beat him even with a perceived advantage.
The PPV is supported by a junior lightweight bout between Gervonta Davis and Francisco Fonseca in the co-feature. Davis is one of the more exciting fighters in boxing at the moment, and it’s a worthy co-feature from Mayweather Promotions.
There are also potentially fun fights between Nathan Cleverly and Badou Jack and light heavyweight and a cruiserweight match between Andrew Tabiti vs. Steve Cunningham.
