Demi Lovato is singing the national anthem at Mayweather vs. McGregor and can also kick your butt

Lovato, a huge MMA fan, will sing the national anthem at the McGregor-Mayweather fight.

Demi Lovato will sing the United States’ national anthem at the Mayweather-McGregor fight Saturday at the Las Vegas T-Mobile Arena, which is actually pretty fitting.

Lovato is a huge fan of mixed martial arts. In fact, she trains in MMA and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Lovato told Self in a recent interview that she “first got into jiu-jitsu because I loved watching people grapple.”

“I think it’s really cool to learn something that helps you with self-defense,” she said. MMA is meditative to Lovato because she thinks about attacking and defending a lot.

“Sometimes I get really bored when I do just an hour of cardio, so sometimes I struggle with boredom. But that’s why I like to train MMA, because it keeps it exciting.”

Lovato joins The Killers as the only musicians to participate in this McGregor-Mayweather bout. The Killers released a music video of their song “The Man,” which has clips of Mayweather and McGregor training. The video also shows the band performing in a boxing ring.

According to Rolling Stone, this is the first time Lovato, 25, will sing the “Star-Spangled Banner” at a boxing event. However, she has experience singing the anthem at sporting events, singing before Game 4 of the 2015 World Series, Game 5 of the 2011 World Series, and a Dallas Cowboys game in 2008.
