Vasyl Lomachenko will defend his WBO title in a super featherweight matchup against Miguel Marriaga in the headliner of a free ESPN card on Saturday. Since signing a deal with promoter Top Rank, ESPN has been putting on quality cards, and Lomachenko is one of the very best in the world, likely the best in the super featherweight division right now.

He’ll be in action at the head of a packed fight card that will be live streamed online via ESPN3 and the ESPN App on various connected devices. The televised main card begins at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN and featured the bout between Lomachenko and Marriaga after a lightweight contest between Ray Beltran and Bryan Vasquez.

That main card will also be streamed online. The streaming undercard will begin at 7 p.m., and of particular note is the professional debut for 2016 United States Olympian Mikaela Mayer, who is facing Widnelly Figueroa.

Lomachenko originally wanted to avenge his only professional defeat, a controversial split decision against Orlando Salido in 2014. But that fight couldn’t come together for various reasons, and Lomachenko will instead fight Marriaga, a former world title challenger who lost in his last outing.

Marriaga isn’t a gimme fight, though. He’s a gatekeeper for the division, and nearly bested Oscar Valdez earlier in 2017, not to mention his knockout of prospect Guy Robb in 2016.

This isn’t the ideal fight for Lomachenko, at least as far as his fans are concerned. His last bout was a win over Jason Sosa. Marriaga is something of a step up, but Lomachenko is heavily favored and any result that isn’t him dominating his opponent on Saturday would be considered disappointing.

That bout will be streamed along with several other undercard matchups.
