On Saturday night, No. 1 Alabama and No. 3 Florida State faced off in what many called the biggest college football opening game of all-time in Atlanta’s new Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Alabama got the best of FSU, and won the game 24-7.
Panthers’ Twitter acknowledges Deondre Francois’ resemblance to Cam Newton
They said if it was Newton, FSU would have won the game. History agrees.

In the first quarter, a screenshot appeared that made FSU quarterback Deondre Francois look a heck of a lot like Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.
I mean...that looks like Cam. Here’s a side by side in case this is your first time hearing of Deondre Francois or Cam Newton:
It should be noted, however, the two look nothing alike with helmets off.
The Carolina Panthers strolled onto everybody’s timeline Sunday morning and brought the zinger on the comparison:
If you don’t remember, when Newton was at Auburn, he led the Tigers to a comeback victory, after falling down 24-0 in the second quarter.
In that game, Newton completed 13-of-20 passes for 216 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown. It was the first time any team had beaten Alabama after being down 24 points.
Also, Cam Newton’s now a former NFL MVP. So yeah, he’d probably work Alabama.
That’s also a nice casual burn there by the Panthers’ social media team, which has been known to do fun things on Twitter.
