Saturday’s game between No. 10 Florida State and Louisiana-Monroe has been cancelled in the wake of Hurricane Irma, the school announced on Thursday evening. The game was originally rescheduled to a noon kickoff earlier in the week, before the school ultimately decided to cancel all athletic events in Tallahassee for the weekend.
Florida State cancels game against Louisiana-Monroe due to Hurricane Irma
Saturday’s game was set for noon.

Saturday’s game would have marked the Noles’ home opener in Doak Campbell Stadium, following Florida State’s loss to Alabama last weekend. FSU isn’t the first to make a cancellation of a game in the state of Florida due to Irma. Miami cancelled its road trip to Arkansas State, Florida cancelled its home opener against Northern Colorado, and USF’s game at UConn will not be played on Saturday.
It’s unknown if the two teams will make the game up. We’ll keep you updated on any additional information.
