For the second time in school history, Notre Dame advanced to the NCAA men’s hockey championship game. The Irish did so in spectacular fashion on Thursday night, beating Michigan 4-3 thanks to Jake Evans.
Frozen Four 2018 results: Notre Dame goal with 4 seconds left sends Irish to championship game
Notre Dame will play Minnesota-Duluth for the championship Saturday

The goal came with just 3.7 seconds remaining in the third period, and ended what Evans called a lull after Michigan tied the game with 5:22 remaining.
“We’re a very resilient team,” Evans told on ESPN after the game. “The whole bench was confident we were going to come back in this one.”
Notre Dame last made the title game in 2008, ultimately losing to Boston College. The Irish are seeking their first hockey national championship.
On Saturday night Notre Dame will face Minnesota-Duluth in the finale, after the Bulldogs beat Ohio State 2-1 earlier on Thursday. Duluth has one championship in school history, won in 2011, which was the last time the Frozen Four was played at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.
