The 150th running of the Belmont Stakes is Saturday, and Justify is the overwhelming favorite in New York to capture the third leg of the Triple Crown.
Belmont 2018 odds: Hofburg, Bravazo expected to challenge Justify
Justify the overwhelming favorite to complete the Triple Crown

Justify enters the weekend at -110 to win the Belmont per Bovada, meaning a bettor would have to wager $110 just to win $100 in the race, should Justify join American Pharoah (2015) as the only horses to win thoroughbred horse racing’s Triple Crown in the last 40 years.
Hofburg finished seventh at the Preakness Stakes on May 19, and enters the Belmont at +450, meaning a $100 wager would win $450. Bravazo, who finished second to Justify in Baltimore, is at +750 at the Belmont.
An interesting choice on Saturday is Vino Rosso, who finished ninth at the Kentucky Derby. Mike Dempsey of Odds Shark explains:
As Todd Pletcher does, he skipped the Preakness to give the colt five weeks, a strategy that worked well with his last two Belmont winners. Last year Tapwrit had run sixth in the Derby and in 2013 Palace Malice had faded to finish 12th in the Derby and they both rebounded to win the Belmont. Pletcher also won the Belmont in 2007 with Rags to Riches and has run second six times since 2000.
Television coverage of the Belmont Stakes begins at 2 p.m. ET on NBCSN on Saturday and shifts to NBC at 4 p.m., with the main race scheduled for a 6:46 p.m. post time.
