A mixed tag team match is the big draw of WWE’s Bash in Berlin

All the intrigue comes from a breakup, of lovers and friends alike.

WWE is heading for Berlin, Germany for its next premium live event, aptly entitled Bash in Berlin, on Sat., Aug. 31, 2024. The card features a few compelling match-ups, sure, but not much intrigue surrounding said match-ups.

GUNTHER, who hails from Austria, will defend the world heavyweight championship against Randy Orton in a rematch from the controversial King of the Ring finals. The wrestling will be anywhere from good to great, but the finish seems obvious.

The same rings true for Cody Rhodes putting the WWE championship on the line against dear friend Kevin Owens. They’ve attempted to drive interest by teasing out the possibility that KO will turn on the man who gifted him a title shot but the whole thing feels flat.

Where all the intrigue lies, at least on this particular card, is with, surprisingly enough, a mixed tag team match pitting The Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio & Liv Morgan against the newly christened Terror Twins, Damian Priest & Rhea Ripley.

If you aren’t aware of the history here, thankfully WWE has put together this video showcasing where this all began and how we got here:

As you can see, this one has it all — ego, pride, deception, betrayal, star crossed lovers, broken friendships, a power struggle, revenge, major returns, surprises. Now all we need is a fun match to cap it all off and this will be one of the better programs we’ve seen from WWE mixing the men’s and women’s divisions in some time.

It’s already a great story. Let’s hope they can deliver the goods on a great match to go with it.
