Borussia Mönchengladbach scored three times in a ten minute span in the second half to complete a remarkable comeback in a 3-2 victory in Hannover. The loss is Hannover’s first at home since April 2011.

The first half saw chances for both sides but no goals. Mame Biram Diouf was played in by Lars Stindl, but his shot was saved by Marc Andre ter Stegen. At the other end, Juan Arango came close with a free kick, but it was wide.

Jan Schlaudraff opened the scoring just after halftime with a shot from distance. Ter Stegen got his hands to the ball, but he managed to only deflect it off of the post and into his net. Hannover doubled their lead five minutes later when Diouf backheeled a cross from Konstantin Rausch past Ter Stegen.

Gladbach pressed forward looking for a goal, but they found three of them starting in the 70th minute. Ron-Robert Zieler blocked a shot from Arango, but it only went as far as Alvaro Dominguez who knocked it in to pull one back. They grabbed the equalizer seven minutes later. Arango sent in a free kick, and Roel Brouwers headed it past Zieler to make it 2-2.

The Foals weren’t finished scoring goals. Arango completed his man of the match performance and won the match in the 79th minute. He scored a spectacular free kick for Gladbach’s first victory away from home on the season.

The three points sees Gladbach move into 9th place in the table just one point ahead of Hannover.
