Borussia Mönchengladbach ended Eintracht Frankfurt’s unbeaten run with a 2-0 victory on Sunday. The win is Gladbach’s first since their opening match of the season.

Juan Arango celebrated his 100th Bundesliga appearance in style by giving Gladbach the early lead with an impressive strike from distance. He intercepted a pass from Olivier Occean in midfield before turning and unleashing a 25 yard blast into the top corner that Kevin Trapp had absolutely no chance at saving.
Occean nearly made up for his error ten minutes later. He brought a ball down off of his chest before turning and shooting into the side netting.
Gladbach doubled their lead in the 24th minute. Håvard Nordtveit played a long ball over the top to Luuk de Jong. The Dutch striker beat Carlos Zambrano to the ball and struck a half volley with his left foot past Trapp into the net.
The hosts scored again in the 37th minute, but Lukas Rupp was declared offside. It just wasn’t meant to be for Frankfurt’s Occean on the day as he hit the crossbar in the 76th minute.
Frankfurt remain in second play even with the loss, but they now sit five points behind Bayern Munich. The three points move Gladbach clear of the relegation zone for now to midtable.
