Nürnberg vs. Stuttgart: Final score 0-2, Ibisevic scores and creates a goal as Stuttgart win

Stuttgart received a huge performance from Vedad Ibišević on the way to a huge win.

Stuttgart patiently defended against Nürnberg before scoring on a defensive mistake and a counterattack on their way to a 2-0 win.

Nürnberg’s Marcos Antonio played a lazy pass back to Raphael Schäfer, but Vedad Ibišević jumped between the two and stole the ball. He deftly touched the ball around Schäfer and into the back of the net to give Stuttgart a 1-0 lead before one minute had passed.

The hosts battled hard and nearly equalized several times at the foot of Timo Gebhart, but Stuttgart would find the next goal. In the 75th minute on a quick counter, Ibišević fed the ball to Martin Harnik who ripped a shot past Schäfer to make it 2-0.

The loss ends a disastrous week for Nürnberg. After picking up 7 out of 9 possible in their first three matches, they lost three matches in the last seven days to find themselves down in 11th place in the table. They can take solace in the fact that they are still ahead of Stuttgart who are down in 15th.
