Greuther Fürth have announced that they have parted ways with manager Mike Büskens effective immediately. Büskens is the fourth Bundesliga manager fired this season.

Mike Büskens has become the fourth Bundesliga club to be sacked this season.

Büskens, 44, took over Fürth during the winter break of the 2009-10 season. That season he saved them from relegation, and Fürth just missed out on promotion the next season. In his third season in charge, Der Kleeblätter won the 2.Bundesliga and secured promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time ever.
It was always going to be a long shot for Fürth to remain in the Bundesliga, and they’ve definitely taken their bumps along the road so far this season. Through 22 games, Fürth has only won twice, and none of them have been at home in the Trolli Arena.
Helmut Hack, the club’s president, spoke on Büskens: “Because we know how much we have Mike Büskens to thank for, it was a very difficult decision for us. We still have a chance of survival and we wanted to try and give the team some fresh impulse.”
Sporting director Rouven Schröder and U-23 coach Ludwig Preis will take over the club on an interim basis. A permanent replacement will be hired in the future.
