DFB-Pokal second round schedule and scores

The German Cup returns for its second round in midweek, with all of the nation’s top teams in action.

Germany’s one and only major cup competition returns in midweek, with the DFB-Pokal’s second round stretched over Tuesday and Wednesday. All of Germany’s top teams are in action, though conspicuous by their absence are fallen giants Hamburg, who suffered a humiliating upset at the hands of minnows Carl Zeiss Jena in the opening round.

The neutrals will be hoping for similar shocks this week, though most eyes will be glued to Tuesday's top flight clash between last season's Bundesliga runners-up Wolfsburg and defending champions Bayern Munich.

If you're too hipster for that match to float your boat, there are a few intriguing games a day later: Borussia Dortmund should be able to continue their bright start to the new season at home to Paderborn and Schalke 04 face a tough test at home to Borussia Mönchengladbach, who have recovered from their disappointing start to the season and are now one of Germany's most in-form teams.
