Kentucky vs. Eastern Michigan final score: Wildcats pull away late for 81-63 victory

Kentucky was challenged by an overmatched opponent again, but a big day for Aaron Harrison and another double-double from Julius Randle put the game away.

No. 3 Kentucky got another tough game from a non-conference foe on Wednesday, but the Wildcats played a crisp final 10 minutes to cruise to an 81-63 win over Eastern Michigan at Rupp Arena.

Julius Randle had his seventh consecutive double-double to start his collegiate career, pouring on 14 points and 10 rebounds. Aaron Harrison led the Wildcats with 22 points to go along with seven rebounds.

Eastern Michigan led for the first six minutes of the game until Harrison made a three to put Kentucky up 10-8. The Wildcats kept the lead for almost the rest of the afternoon, but a 13-6 spurt to end the first half kept the Eagles close.

Darell Combs came off the bench for Eastern Michigan to score a game-high 23 points.

The Wildcats extended a 10-point lead to 21 in the last 10:20 to finally put the game away. Randle scored seven of his points in that final stretch and Harrison scored nine more.

Kentucky held a commanding 52-33 advantage on the glass, but also turned the ball over 20 times. Three Kentucky starters had five turnovers each. Willie Cauley-Stein flirted with a triple double, scoring 15 points, blocking seven shots and pulling down eight rebounds.
