Connecticut vs. Stanford final score: Cardinal upset No. 10 Huskies, 53-51
Down 10 at the half, Stanford handed Connecticut its first loss of the season with a second-half rally.
Down two midway through the second half, Randle knotted the game up at 43 with a dribble-drive lay-in, drawing a foul and sinking the ensuing free throw. Having trailed by as many as 11, it was the Cardinal's first lead of the second half. A back-and-forth battle ensued, with UConn's Shabazz Napier and Omar Calhoun failing to connect on four attempts in the final minute. UConn finished the second half hitting just five of their 31 field-goal attempts.
Napier is one of the elite players in college basketball, but it was Randle’s night to be the best player on the floor. The junior sank 50 percent of his shots and chipped in five rebounds to go with his impressive scoring total. John Huestis added 13 points and 10 rebounds for Stanford.
