North Carolina A&T vs. Liberty score update: Aggies up early in the first of the First Four
Marshall's second three-pointer of the game broke Seth Curry's single-season record for treys by a Liberty player. The 5'11 junior now has 104 on the season and 11 points in the game thus far. John Caleb Sanders also has a trifecta from downtown in a game rife with long-range shooting. Both teams have combined for 24 attempts, hitting 11 of them.
Leading the way for NC A&T is forward Bruce Beckford, who has 12 points on six-of-seven shooting. Austin Witter and Jeremy Underwood each have a pair of threes.
NC A&T entered the tournament as an automatic bid, having won the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament over Morgan State. The Aggies finished the regular season just 8-8 in conference play, but got hot during the tourney and earned their bid.
Liberty had an even more unlikely journey to the tourney. After starting the season 1-10, the Flames stumbled to a 6-10 record in Big South play. Despite that, Liberty knocked off three of the top four seeds in the tournament to clinch a spot in the first round of The Big Dance.
The winner plays tournament No. 1 overall seed Louisville on Thursday at 6:50 p.m. ET.
