For the No. 4 seeded Orange to notch a victory over the No. 13 Grizzlies, they'll need strong play from leading scorer C.J. Fair. The lefty from Baltimore averaged 14.4 points per game during the regular season, and poured in 21 points in Saturday's loss to Louisville. Guard Michael Carter-Williams added 11 points and nine assists against the Cardinal, while senior Brandon Triche added 10 as well.
Like Syracuse, Montana will rely on guard-play to help them try and pull the upset Thursday. With leading scorer Mattias Ward out for the season with an injury, junior Kareem Jamar has stepped up recently, scoring in double-figures in 10 of the Grizzlies last 11 games.
The winner of this game will play again Saturday, when they take on the winner of the West region’s No. 5 vs. No. 12 match-up between UNLV and Cal.
